MCF Backup and Restore Configuration

The documentation below is valid from Datafari 5.1 and upwards

You can easily save and restore your MCF configuration by the admin UI in Datafari.

To do so, click on Administration on the Datafari UI then Expert Menu

  • Backup MCF

To do a backup of the MCF configuration (exported in JSON files) just click on the "Save MCF connections" button if you want to keep the default path :  /opt/datafari/bin/backup/mcf

If you want to store it elsewhere, check that the folder is already present on your filesystem and that the permissions are correct.

The structure ot the files will be :

  • Restore MCF configuration

Warning : This command will delete also all the documents in your Solr index. You have to stop Solr before executing this command to avoid this.

Before doing it, make sure that all your MCF jobs are stopped. You can also delete all your MCF configuration prior the restoration to have a clean environment.

Click on the "Restore MCF connections" button in order to do it. If you do not fill the path text box, the default path will be used : 

/opt/datafari/bin/backup/mcf
